Our wedding will take place in the town of Villa de Leyva, three hours outside of the city of Bogota. See here how to get to Casa Retiro Real

The best way to get there is to fly into Bogota and take either the bus provided by the bride and groom or book your own private transport.

FLYING INTO EL DORADO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (BOG)

For those visiting from out-of-town, we recommend you fly into El Dorado International Airport (BOG).

Important Passport Information

To travel internationally, most airlines require you to have 6 months validity left on your passport. Please check your passport.

VISAS

Citizens from the EU, the US and a number of other countries do not need a visa to enter Colombia. Please check visa requirements and visa request process.

Customs at BOG

It is recommended for all travelers entering Colombia to obtain a Check-MIG Colombia form. The Check MIG form is completely free, takes about 2 minutes to fill out and while it is not mandatory, it may help speed up the immigration control process.

Upon arriving you’ll be shuffled to the customs line which can take anywhere from 30 mins to 2 hrs. depending on the air traffic. When you share your passports with customs, you can share that you are going to a wedding (“Boda” in Spanish) in Villa de Leyva.

TRANSPORTATION IN BOGOTA

Although in general Colombia is a safe country, please take extra precautions and do not hail a cab from the streets. Instead use any of the below options:

UBER

Uber works like it does in anywhere else. Uber drivers prefer that the front passenger seat is taken first and then passengers can board the back.

Hotel Taxi Cab

Work with your hotel to schedule a cab for you. You can also take an official taxi from within the airport to your hotel destination.

TRAVEL TO VILLA DE LEYVA VIA BUS

The bride and groom are going the extra mile to ensure the comfort and convenience of their guests. We will be providing transportation with a 3 hour bus ride. We hope the journey to Villa de Leyva will be enjoyable and hassle-free for all of our guests.

We ask that if you reside in Bogota, and own a vehicle, you drive on your own to Villa de Leyva. Thank you for your cooperation!
